Personal Bio:
Dr. Iftekhar Ahmed received his doctorate from Texas A&M University in August, 2009. Before joining UNT, Dr. Ahmed worked at the National Center for Supercomputing Applications (NCSA) of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign from May, 2009 to August, 2012.

Research Interest:
Dr. Ahmed's research areas include group communication, organizational communication, and communication technology. His research focuses on the groups and organizations in technology mediated environments, scientific cyberinfrastructure, network development, computational social science, and human behavior analysis. Dr. Ahmed's work appears in communication and interdisciplinary publications.

Teaching:
Dr. Ahmed teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in group communication, communication theory, organizational communication, virtual environment, computer mediated communication, social media, and games studies.
