We had three teams go to the Spring TIFA state contest this weekend and compete in parliamentary debate. This was our first year of membership to TIFA and our Mean Green teams did fantastic. Garrett Hammonds and Abron Hester placed in the quarter finals of the tournament. We also had three individuals receive top speaker awards. Hester won 4th top speaker in the state, Hammonds received 5th, and Maggie Mcgehee took 7th place. Hammonds and Hester also were inducted to the All State Texas Forensics Squad, which recognizes these two debaters on an elite squad of Texas' best speakers. Only 8 students were included in the All State Squad this year, and being named to the squad recognizes Hammonds' and Hester's academic and competitive success for the entire season.
