Q: How long have you been at UNT? Tell us a bit about yourself, as well as your time at UNT.

A: I just started my fifth year at UNT. My partner Jennifer and I moved here from Colorado in 2013 with our two dogs. We recently adopted a babyâ€"â€"her name is Quinn and she can sometimes be seen getting pushed or carried around the GAB. I love craft beer and used to brew my own...a hobby I think about starting back up every fall.

Q: What classes are you currently teaching?

A: This fall semester I am teaching an undergraduate class called "Communication Theories of Sexuality," and a graduate class called "Race and Public Culture." The undergraduate class is in its third iteration and seems to be popular judging by the waitlist :)

Q: Are you currently working on any new projects or research?

A: I am starting a new project that is currently taking the form of an article length piece but that I think may transition into a book. The subject relates to activist art and the public sphere. Specifically, I am interested in exploring the role that public art installations and popular culture performance (like SNL) play to reinvigorate the public sphere and the deliberation that occurs therein.

Q: What is your favorite course to teach and why?

A: At the undergraduate level it is the Communication Theories of Sexuality Course. The students are really interested in the content and it is fun to challenge them to think in different ways about the extents/applications of social construction.

Q: What is your favorite movie or Tv series?

A: I don't watch much television but I am currently watching AHS-cult and am pretty into it, and I really love Game of Thrones

Q: What do you like to do when you have free time?

A: Ride my bike, Take Quinn or our dog for a walk, brew/drink/talk about local beer.

Q: Do you have anything exciting planned for this semester

A: Thanksgiving with friends from across the country
