The Department of Communication Studies is delighted to welcome Megan Morrissey as a tenure-track member of our faculty beginning in Fall of 2013. Megan will join us from the University of Colorado-Boulder, where she is currently finishing her PhD investigating migrant and LGBTQ citizenship discourses.

Megan's expertise at teaching in the areas of Latina/o rhetorics and the rhetorics of race, sexuality, class, and gender, along with her strong investment in studying social movements and advocating for social justice, will complement this department's investment in producing students who are theoretically grounded as they investigate real-world struggles. As Megan noted in her application, "In my new academic home, I will seek to foster interdisciplinary collaborations, motivated by my interests and commitments to working on and across difference."

We are thrilled that Megan has chosen UNT as her new academic home and look forward to engaging with her in these collaborative commitments. Welcome to Texas, Megan!
