For the second consecutive year, Dr. Brian Richardson won Top Paper honors in the Organizational Communication Division at the Eastern Communication Association's annual convention. Dr. Richardson's paper was titled "'I just want to take the kid home with me': Making sense of hopelessness in the school guidance counselor profession" and describes a study examining the emotion-laden work of school guidance counselors. This study was initiated in Dr. Richardson's Spring 2015 Qualitative Research Methods class with the assistance of students in the class. This year's ECA convention was held in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
