This year's CLASS Advisory Board Awards brought an exciting surprise, as Dr. Megan Morrissey was awarded the Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching Award. This was Dr. Morrissey's fourth time as a finalist.
In recent years, Dr. Morrissey has taught classes such as COMM 4540: Communications Theories of Sexuality and COMM 4640: Latin@ Rhetorics. She also serves as the director of the Women's and Gender Studies Program at UNT.
As an instructor, Dr. Morrissey brings an enthusiasm and interest for how a variety of communicative practices inform the daily aspects of people's lives and is committed to conveying the importance of understanding such practices for participation in the (re)production of those social conditions of which we are all a part. Dr. Morrissey sees the time she spends in the classroom as intimately informed by her research, and the research that she is conducting being equally affected by her teaching.
Congratulations again, Dr. Morrissey! This could not be more well-deserved.
