Dr. Luciano Floridi, Professor of Philosophy at the University of Hertfordshire, sat down with some of our department's graduate students on Wednesday, March 14th. He discussed his research regarding the philosophy of information and computer science.
Dr. Floridi has created numerous works in this area of study and has been published in peer-reviewed journals such as the British Journal for the History of Philosophy, the International Journal of Human-Computer Studies, and Philosophy and Phenomenology Research. He has also been featured on the popular website TED Talks.
On Thursday, March 15th, the Center for the Study of Interdisciplinary and the College of Information will be hosting Dr. Floridi's lecture, "Enveloping the world: understanding the constraining success of smart technologies." The lecture will be at Discovery Park B155 at 6:00 PM.
