Q&A with Adjunct Jenna Ledford

Q: What courses do you teach?

COMM 2060

Q: What are your current career goals?

I work a full-time job and adjunct on the side.

Q: Did you previously study at UNT and tell us about your time here and what your academic focus was.

I earned my Master's in Communication Studies at UNT in 2012. I studied rhetoric and performance.

Q: How long have you been an adjunct and how long will you be here?

Three semesters - and as long as they need me - I love teaching 2060!

Q: What do you do outside of teaching?

I work a full-time job at UNT in the Center for Learning Enhancement, Assessment, and Redesign.

Q: Do you have a fun memory from your time at UNT ?

In graduate school, a bunch of us would karaoke. I sang "Just a Girl" by No Doubt with Suzanne Enck!

Q: Are you currently working on any research or projects?

My full-time job involves multiple projects addressing learning and teaching in higher education.

Q: Is there anything you would like UNT Comm students to understand or know about adjuncts?

I have the luxury of teaching COMM 2060 in addition to a stable full-time job, but a lot of adjuncts teach several classes full time, which is really hard. It's important to get to know your instructor - sometimes, like a lot of college students, they are just trying to make ends meet, too.

Q: What is your favorite book?

How could I possibly pick just one?!
