Congratulations to graduate students Sam Gist, Hailey Drescher-Glover, Flora Ceka, and Kara Brittain for each winning a $250 graduate travel grant to attend the Southern States Communication Association Convention in Louisville, KY!

Sam Gist will be presenting his paper "Revisiting Kenneth Burke's Technological Ontology: Critical Consequences for a New Century", which received the Top student paper for the Kenneth Burke Society Interest Group in the Top Student Papers in Burkean Studies panel.

Hailey Drescher-Glover will be presenting her paper "For Twenty Dollars, You Get a Family: Observing Shared Identity in Motorcycle Clubs" along with previous UNT Communication Studies graduate student Jenna Barclay for the Family Issues and Interpersonal Communication panel.

Flora Ceka will be presenting her papers on "Who Are We: A New Critical Approach to Oral Interpretation" for the Who Are We? Looking Back Through Performance panel and "Passing for Normal" for the Performing Race: Choices and Consequences panel.

Kara Brittain will be presenting her papers on "#Occupywallstreet: An Analysis of Twitter Usage during a Protest Movement" for the In Opposition: Motorcycle Outlaws, Surveillances, and Twitter Protests panel and "Gospel-Based Episte-gogy: The Intersection of Faith, Epistemology, and Pedagogy" for the Perspectives on Teaching and Knowing: Where Epistemology Meets Pedagogy panel.
