Petit Jean State Park near Morrilton, Arkansas, served as the site of the the 36th annual Petit Jean Performance Festival on October 16 & 17. The festival leaders, Bob Gerard, Kelley Norman, and Sara Beth Gerard-Summers, selected this year's theme, "The Ghost in this House," and led a workshop that provided festival participants with the opportunity to explore contemporary poetry about hauntings through a variety of staging techniques. The festival was truly a national gathering, with one hundred participants representing eleven universities. Universities in attendance came from throughout the country, representing both coasts (California and South Carolina) as well as the upper Midwest and the deep South (Illinois and Louisiana). In addition to workshop sessions and individual performances, participants had the opportunity to view and critique group productions from Capital University (Ohio), California State University at Northridge, Kennesaw State University (Georgia), Louisiana State University, Southern Illinois University, and the University of North Texas.
